Logsdon brings home gold from World Beer Cup for peachy Peche ‘n Brett

8 May

Dave Logsdon and Charles Porter brew Logsdon Farmhouse Ales at … Logsdon’s barn, about 15 miles south of Hood River.

As we head toward American Craft Beer Week (May 14-20), we at the Hood River Hotel are glad to offer congratulations to our favorite new/old brewer — Dave Logsdon.

Logsdon was the original brewmaster at Full Sail Brewing in Hood River, and after running Wyeast Labs for many years, he rebirthed himself as a brewer in 2011 through his farm and release of Logsdon Farmhouse Ales.

According to a report on the Oregon Food & Drink blog about Oregon winners in the World Beer Cup, Logsdon brought home a gold for Oregon and himself, in category 19 for American-Style Brett Ale.

Against 28 competitors, Logsdon earner a gold medal for his peach-flavored Peche ‘n Brett. We’ve tried — and come to love — his other beers, but not the Peche. Let’s just say we’re feeling extremely motivated. You, too? Gold for you.
